She and her team specialize in integrated photonic devices and circuits for communications and neurotechnology. She received the PhD and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 2007 and 2003 respectively, and the BASc in Engineering Science (physics option) from the University of Toronto in 2002.
