High-Speed Conductive Oxide Modulator with Sub-Volt Driving Voltage

We report high-speed MOSCAP microring modulator driven by high mobility transparent conductive oxide, which achived 0.8V driving voltage and 25Gb/s modulation speed. An invited speaker presentation by professor Alan Wang, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Baylor University.

Dr. Alan Wang is the Mearse Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Baylor University. His current research spans over photonic integrated circuits, nanophotonic devices, and various nano-scale optical sensors.

About the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Baylor University
Many Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) students are interested in subject areas like math and science, have a natural curiosity, and enjoy experimenting with the latest technological gadgets, like computers and robots. These are some of the traits engineers use in their everyday professions. There are other talents that are needed, like good communication and interpersonal skills, which we emphasize heavily at Baylor. As good stewards of God-given talents, ECE students are also interested in developing appropriate technologies to help the underserved in underdeveloped countries, preserve the environment, and develop sustainable energy sources.

Engineering and Computer Science students have an opportunity to participate in innovative engineering applications alongside dedicated faculty members.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering discipline is the largest engineering profession in the workforce and Baylor ECE graduates are among the most sought-after. Our alumni have distinguished themselves within many high-tech and high-profile companies, including Raytheon, Dell, Accenture Consulting, Ernst & Young, Westinghouse, HP, General Electric, Northrop Grumman, Shell, Chrysler, Lockheed-Martin, AT&T, Texas Instruments, Unisys, Trane, Southwestern Bell, ExxonMobil, Texas Utilities, Motorola, and many others.
